Let's talk business in Pomerania

Intense business life of Pomerania is proven by many significant economic events. The city of Gdynia has been a host of the International Economic Forum for over nine years. In 2009 Gdańsk welcomed the polish edition of Globe Forum and every two years politicians and businessmen form all around the world discuss maritime issues during the Baltexpo Exhibition. Pomerania attracts experts representing many economic sectors and creates for them comfortable environment for debate and networking activities.

It is time for Polish Edition of Globe Forum

The first Polish edition of the Globe Forum took place in Gdańsk in October 2009. The aim of the meetings, which have been organized in Stockholm since 2003, is creating a field for discussion concerning sustainable economy development, future global trends, innovations in the economy and innovative approach to energy production. The Globe Forum in Gdańsk is supposed to become a periodic international event.

Over 1250 guests participated in the first polish edition of the Globe Forum. Representatives of local authorities, business, universities, non-government organizations and politicians visited the conference. "Business Innovation for Sustainable Growth" was the watchword of this year's meeting. During the Forum prestigious Globe Awards Polish Edition were handed in two categories: Commune of Sustainable Growth and Innovation of Sustainable Growth. The competition's goal is to promote the most valuable initiatives in the field of sustainable development.

The Onstage Contest, targeted to smaller innovative companies, is an interesting supplement of the Globe Forum. Entrepreneurs introduce their innovative solutions in "elevator pitches" - sixty-second-long onstage presentations. The last stage of the contest is filled with questions of experts and audience. The winner of this contest, who is decorated with audience prize, is chosen by acclamation.

International Economic Forum in Gdynia

International Economic Forum in Gdynia has been attracting prominent representatives of local business and education for over 12 years. Gdynia's meetings are the field for exchange of experience and thoughts. International Economic Forum is also a comfortable environment for networking activities. Meeting in Gdynia is the largest event of this kind in Northern Poland. Every year Forum focuses on the most present economic issues of the region.
The prime issue during the Forum is traditionally maritime economy, which is strongly associated with the world's economy. Gdynia is the city, which is regarded as the "Polish window for the world". It has a modern commercial and passenger harbour and attracts dynamic people form whole Poland.
The Tourism Panel, which is becoming an inherent element of the Economic Forum, concerns innovations in tourism. The Panel is filled with presentations and discussions ranging marketplace trends, territorial marketing and creating of territorial brands.
Every year the Economic Forum concentrates on topics important for the economy and development of the city, region and the Baltic Sea basin. In 2009 for the first time issues concerning urban space were discussed. The City Space Panel referred to aspects important for city authorities, tourism and building industry or simply quality of life.

Baltexpo - time for maritime

International Shipbuilding and Shipping Exhibition BALTEXPO takes place in the Gdansk. Ranked fourth worldwide, this trade fair and exhibition is the most important maritime event in Poland. A reputation of BALTEXPO has been consolidated after 2007 edition, which in the opinion of the vast majority of exhibitors "has been above expectations".
BALTEXPO traditionally covers: shipbuilding and ship-repairs, ports and terminals, deck equipment, engines, marine electronics, ship-broking. During the Exhibiton Gdańsk is the host for the main companies of maritime industry and their collaborators. Every two years BALTEXPO attracts politicians, experts, scientists, suppliers and businessman who discuss the most recent issues of maritime sector.
Participation in BALTEXPO provides an excellent environment to present products and services, allows to find out the future needs and requirements of potential customers and results in new contacts to facilitate further business.
